The First Commonwealth Board of Directors is very pleased for our membership to have Donna assume the role of President/CEO. Donna brings a proven track record of excellence that bodes well for our desire to continue First Commonwealth’s history of growth and exceptional member service. Her vision and drive will help lead us in finding new ways to serve our membership and meet their financial needs and expand our membership base. Donna succeeds Jo Ann Broderick who is retiring after 17 years with First Commonwealth. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Jo Ann for her leadership at FCFCU. During Jo Ann’s tenure, FCFCU has grown to over $600 Million in assets with over 55,000 members. We wish Jo Ann the best in her retirement” states Vince Gorman, Chairman, Board of Directors.

“I feel honored to have been chosen to become CEO of such a large, well-respected organization as First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union. I am excited to join the team, to meet First Commonwealth members and community stakeholders, and to work closely with the board to help further the First Commonwealth mission to improve members’ financial well-being. I will be forever grateful to the Affinity Federal Credit Union team, and in particular John Fenton, for the opportunity to learn and grow at Affinity for the last 18 years.”

Donna was with Affinity more than 18 years and was responsible for the branches and call center as well as the investment, insurance and title businesses. Donna was a high-ranking and long-tenured executive at Affinity, which has $2.4 billion in assets making it the largest credit union in New Jersey and one of the largest in the U.S.  Prior to Affinity Donna worked for a commercial bank; though she gained valuable experience from the banking industry, she hoped to find an organization that placed a high value on customer service.

Donna achieved her Master in Business Administration from University of Phoenix and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Thomas Edison State College. She completed the three year Cardwell CEO development program and participated in the Credit Union Executive Society CEO Institute.

External roles included chair of the Somerset County Business Partnership board, chair of the Ridewise board, chair of the Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Foundation board, participant in the RVCC presidential search committee, and member of the Global Women’s Leadership Network, the Women’s Leadership Giving Circle, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions legislative committee, the Credit Union Executive Society and the Bank Administration Institute.
