The Heartland Credit Union Association (HCUA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Brad Douglas has been selected as Chief Executive Officer after an extensive national search. Brad will be taking the helm at the end of the month. HCUA is the result of the consolidation of the Kansas Credit Union Association and the Missouri Credit Union Association. Both Marla Marsh, CEO of Kansas and Don Cohenour, CEO of Missouri will be retiring March 31, 2016 as Brad takes over leadership of the organization.

“We are fortunate to have found Brad, who brings incredible depth and breadth of experience to the Heartland Credit Union Association,” said Judy Hadsall, HCUA board chair. “Not only is he well-versed in leading teams and growing organizations, he has key connections with legislators and leaders throughout the Midwest and in Washington D.C., which will help us to advance our advocacy efforts. I am confident that Brad’s keen insight into public affairs and his strategic vision for the association will create an environment where credit unions can thrive.”

Brad is a licensed attorney with non-profit and private sector executive leadership experience in public affairs, government relations, community relations and communications.  Brad has also served as Director and Chairman of CommunityAmerica Credit Union in Kansas City.

“I am excited and pleased to become part of the Heartland Credit Union Association and its community at this unique moment in the history of the organization,” said Douglas. “I look forward to going to work every day in an industry I’m passionate about and believe that our association can help credit unions thrive while positively impacting credit union members’ lives.”

Brad previously held roles as SBA Regional Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Senior Vice President for the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and most recently as Vice President with Alliance Benefit Group of Kansas City.
