SAN FRANCISCO, July 10, 2012—The Kennedy Space Center Federal Credit Union Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Joe Mirachi as their new Chief Executive Officer. Joe Mirachi is the current President/CEO at Tucson Old Pueblo Credit Union (TOPCU). He joined TOPCU in September 2008 at the height of the financial crisis. Under Joe’s leadership, the credit union focused on improving operating efficiencies, strengthening employee development processes, and enhancing member service capabilities. As a result, despite a challenging economic environment, TOPCU posted strong net income for 2010 and 2011.
Prior to TOPCU, Joe held a number of senior management positions over a 12 year span at Kirtland Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, New Mexico. These positions included Chief Financial Officer, Chief Lending Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Operations Officer. At the time of his departure from Kirtland, Joe was the Executive Vice President. He started his career at a $6-billion asset bank in New York City where he rose to the position of Vice President.
Joe is a member of various local community Boards of Directors. He currently serves as a volunteer board member for two non-profit organizations; the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation and the Tucson Police Foundation. Joe holds a degree in economics from Ramapo College, a graduate certificate from the American Institute of Banking, and an MBA in management from Baruch College.
“I’m excited to join the Kennedy Space Center FCU team and I look forward to the opportunity to serve the members, the staff and the local community.” stated Mirachi.
