Safe America Appoints Barry Roach as New CEO

SAN FRANCISCO, August 6, 2012 — The SafeAmerica Credit Union Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Barry Roach as their new President and Chief Executive Officer. Barry was previously the Vice President of Retail Delivery at Meriwest Credit Union ($1.1B in assets), based in San Jose, California. At Meriwest, Barry led the Retail Delivery team. He established the strategic direction for the Retail Delivery group, and developed and implemented supporting sales and service activities.

Prior to Joining Meriwest, he was a National Senior Consultant for CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) in Toronto, Canada. While there he implemented national sales and marketing programs for the bank’s Branch and Small Business Banking teams across the country.

Barry is an experienced and educated Retail Banking professional. He is proven leader, leading large, diverse, multi-channel teams of financial services professionals and has a history of successfully guiding large teams through business culture change.  Barry holds a Master of Business in Finance from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
